KIDS HELP PHONE

On Sunday May 6th, 2018, BMO presented the “Walk so Kids Can Talk” event to celebrate Mental Health Week. It is the biggest annual fundraiser and single largest day of community action for the charity, Kids Help Phone. Last year more than 3.7 million dollars was raised and all of the money goes to insuring that Kids Help Phone can continue to provide crucial trusted counseling and support services to young people across Canada.

Since 1989, Kids Help Phone has offered kids and teens support through its non-judgmental, confidential, anonymous and free service. They have helped more than 7.1 million callers by sharing their perspectives and improving their emotional health and well-being. The majority of revenue for the Kids Help Phone comes from individuals, foundations, corporations and community fundraising.

This May 6th we were very proud to support our friend Lynn who enthusiastically participated in this years walk to raise awareness and funds so that any child in Canada who needs to talk about any problem they are dealing with – just needs to call or click, anytime 24/7/365.

Kids Help Phone has partnered with Crisis Text Line which brings a new and easy way for kids to access help directly from their cellphone without the need for a data plan, internet connection or app! Crisis Text Line is currently up and running in Manitoba and will be launched across Canada later this year.
