A LOOK AT OCTOBER 2019 MARKET STATISTICS

Within the Oakville market, the number of sales of homes of all types was 162 in October of this year, down slightly from 165 in October of last year. Meanwhile, the average sale price saw a drop of 9.5% from $1,247,267 in October of 2018 down to $1,129,241 in October of this year. The number of active listings in Oakville has dropped over 19% from October of last year as supply continues to tighten across the GTA as a whole.

GTA-wide, the number of new listings dropped by 9.6% year over year, and active listings dropped by 18.8% while sales volume jumped by 14%. The GTA as a whole also saw an increase in sale prices of all home types combined of 5.5% from $807,538 in October of 2018 to $852,142 in October of this year.

If we continue to see a tightening of supply across the GTA over the next few months, the Oakville market may start to see some increasing sale prices once again. We are certainly seeing many serious buyers looking at this time of year!
